The classes are divided into an Early Series and a Late Series, and will take you through the whole experience of pregnancy and the early weeks of parenthood. Topics covered include; development of the fetues, physical changes of pregnancy, nutrition and physical activity, breastfeeding, labour and delivery, support during labour, and caring for an infant. If you're far from your family members or new to the area, this might be the program for you. The Birth Companion is an experienced and trained volunteer. Baby's Best Start - Eastern Ontario Health Unit

Baby’s Best Start is a program for mothers at risk of underweight babies. The program provides women with easily accessible community-based support to help them through their pregnancy. The support is in form of nutritional assessments, healthy lifestyle education, breastfeeding promotion and referrals to other community services where necessary. Healthy Babies, Healthy Children (HBHC) is a program that promotes healthy child development to help children achieve their full potential. This program is for pregnant women and families with children up to the age of six. A family home visitor or a public health nurse may visit you in your home to discuss healthy lifestyles, your child’s development, breastfeeding and parenting. At the Watch Me Grow, parents can have their children immunized and weighed. You have access to Health Unit nurses who are available to answer all your questions and appease your worries. You can get information on parenting, safety issues, breastfeeding, introduction of solids, your child’s development and much more. These drop-in centres are very informal. It is a chance to meet other parents and to receive free information and material that will make being a parent less worrisome. Do you want your child to grow up Right From the Start? IF yes, this parenting course is for you. This course for parents of children up to the age of two will help ease concerns some parents may have about raising their children. It will help parents build a safe and positive relationship with their child. Amongst other topics, parents will learn about bonding, responding to their child and communication. They will learn how to interact with their baby to help him develop to his full potential.

VillageMommy.com is a free service with a mission to bring the supportive village feel back to modern motherhood. The service help moms find other moms within walking distance who have babies/kids the same age as them. Peer support is proven to help moms' mental health and even improves outcomes for babies!
