Prenatal Classes - Huron County Health Unit

This prenatal education program is geared towards expectant parents in the second and third trimester of pregnancy. These sessions focus on aspects of labour and birth, breastfeeding, what to expect after delivery and bringing baby home. Each prenatal education series consists of four classes. Classes are offered in Clinton, Exeter and Wingham. Sessions run from 6:45 PM to 8:45 PM. Follow the link above for more information and to register.

Gift of Motherhood eLearning Prenatal Program - Huron County Health Unit

The Gift of Motherhood is an online prenatal education program. The modules contain similar content to our in-person prenatal classes however a variety of learning tools are used such as audio, video and quizzes. The program is designed for you and your partner/support person to experience together to help you feel prepared for childbirth and your new parenting role. Prenatal Healthy Babies, Healthy Children - Huron County Health Unit

A Public Health Nurse can call to offer support for breastfeeding, nutrition, baby care, parenting, and more. You may also want to connect with other community support services and our family visitor program. Prenatal home visits may follow a prenatal telephone call. Public health nurses can talk with you about your pregnancy and child birth in a place you probably feel most comfortable – in your own home.

Postpartum Resources

Postpartum Healthy Babies, Healthy Children - Huron County Health Unit

When you return home from the hospital, within 2 days will receive a call from a Public Health Nurse. This call helps to support the mother and baby when they first arrive home. At this time, many mothers have questions and concerns that can be discussed with the Public Health Nurse. During this phone call, our nurse will also offer a home visit to talk more about any concerns you might have.

Breastfeeding Clinic - Huron County Health Unit

Tuesday 9 AM to noon in Wingham; Friday 9 AM to noon in Exeter and Goderich. A Lactation Consultant or Nurse is available to help nursing mothers. Mothers can also get baby weight checks and information. Follow the link above for more information.

Village Mommy

VillageMommy.com is a free service with a mission to bring the supportive village feel back to modern motherhood. The service help moms find other moms within walking distance who have babies/kids the same age as them. Peer support is proven to help moms' mental health and even improves outcomes for babies!
